Burkes Pharmacy Naas first opened its doors in 1945, under the ownership of the Doreen and Patricia Burke, two very independent sisters, who tirelessly worked in the business until 1998, when it was acquired by Joan Kilgallen. It was important to Joan to retain the name, as the tradition of pharmacy in Naas, was very much associated with their work in the community.
Burkes Pharmacy has since expanded into a six pharmacy group, under Joan’s management, four pharmacies in Co Kildare (Naas and Kilcullen), and two pharmacies in Dublin, Ranelagh and South Circular Road.
